Most Common Foot Sports Injuries

Your foot and ankle work harmoniously together to provide you with support and mobility. Yet repeated stresses can interfere with your joints and muscles, resulting in one of the below common chronic injuries:

Achilles Strain & Pain

If you are suffering with a gradual worsening of pain, swelling, stiffness, redness and reduced strength in your lower leg, as well as a reduced range of motion in your ankle, you may have an Achilles strain.

Shin Splints

Do your shins throb and ache after you exercise or even just sprint to catch a bus? If yes, you could be suffering with shin splints. This common sports injury can be caused by inconsistent stretching or not carrying out the correct calf stretching exercises.

What Our Patients Say

How we can help

Here at Waverley Foot Clinic Farnham, we utilise biomechanical assessment technology to assess what type of treatment you need to overcome your foot sports injury. The assessment will involve the examination of your lower limbs, looking at structure, alignment, strengths and weaknesses. A visual gait/physical examination and a digital GaitScan may be required. This scan will determine how your foot functions from the heel strike to mid-stance to push-off. It will also record how your foot loads and operates as a diagnostic tool and will provide a static load baring scan and 3D image of your feet so that your podiatrist can easily identify the root cause of your pain and any injury you have sustained or condition you are suffering with.

You will then be presented with our recommended treatment plan, which may include dynamic orthotic insoles that will be custom-made using the accurate diagnostic information provided by your GaitScan

No more messy plaster casts that only offer static foot shape information!
